about

"Genuflexion" is a reflection on the landscapes around me, and the headspace they put me in. It's hard not to make ambient and wide open music with the surroundings I am fortunate to live in. The title reflects my reverence of this place.

Genuflexion (noun) - an act of bending the knee or touching it to the ground in reverence or worship.

As with much of my music, the guitar is the primary sound source; although, I'm not that interested in making "guitar" music, per se. I'm much more interested in making textural music where the guitar becomes almost unrecognisable, yet the overall sound-palette is somewhat distinctive from a synthesiser.

How is this done? Through the process of digital degradation and erosion. I.e., taking a source sound and digitally deconstructing it until it turns into something else.

about

Eithreog Dublin, Ireland

Eithreog’s music takes from the land a feeling of groundedness in nature.
